The rapid spread of the new COVID-19 has once again brought the virus into our sight. Not only are medical and rescue workers on the front line, but researchers are working intensively on virus research and drug experiments.
The biosafety laboratory is fully made by clean room facility. We are working closely with medical research to figure out set up the most suitable clean room facility for them.
Let us to see the Biosafety laboratory which is completely made by clean room project.
·What is the Biosafety laboratory
Depending on the level of risk, including the infectivity and harmfulness of infectious agents, according to Biosafety level,BSL, there are P1(Protection level 1), P2, P3 and P4.
Biosafety Labs can also perform tasks that are classified according to safety levels, ranging from low to high.
P1, Basic laboratory, suitable for the human body, animals and plants or environmental hazards are low, do not have healthy adults, animals and plants pathogenic factors.
P2, Basic laboratory, suitable for pathogenic factors with moderate harm or potential danger to human body, plant and animal or environment, will not cause serious harm to healthy adults, animals and environment, and has effective preventive and therapeutic measures.
P3, Protective laboratories, which are suitable for the treatment of pathogenic factors that are highly hazardous to the human body, plant and animal or the environment, which cause serious or even fatal diseases to human beings through direct contact or aerosols, or which are highly hazardous to animals, plants and the environment, usually have preventive and therapeutic measures.
P4, The highest level protective laboratory is suitable for highly hazardous to human body, animals and plants or the environment, transmission or transmission through aerosol pathway unknown, or unknown, highly dangerous pathogenic factors. There are no preventive and therapeutic measures. Such as Ebola.
·Personnel protection in biosafety laboratory.
Before entering a high-grade laboratory, personnel need to go through a number of procedures, including outside dressing room, shower room, inside dressing room, buffer room, etc., from the outside into the laboratory may take 20-30 minutes. Therefore, laboratory staff are required to undergo rigorous training prior to induction and must ensure compliance with the use process after induction. In order to isolate researchers from potential pathogens, entry into the laboratory requires a positive pressure protective suit with independent oxygen supply. In protective clothing, the air that the experimenter breathes comes from an independent air system, and the need to replace the breathing tube is needed to move in the laboratory, which is why there are many spiral tubes hanging in the laboratory.
Laboratory of P2 level and above shall be equipped with biosafety cabinet (Biosafety cabinet,BSC) according to the regulations, and the operation of dangerous pathogens shall be completed in the cabinet. Biosafety cabinet is a kind of negative pressure equipment, which is also divided into different levels according to the proportion of circulating air and exhaust air, and it can prevent the aerosol from spreading out by constantly pulling out the air in the cabinet to ensure the negative pressure in the cabinet. After the completion of the experiment, personnel leave the laboratory, chemical shower disinfection, eliminate all possible contamination of the virus, and finally layer by layer to remove the protective device.
Let us pay tribute to the scientific and medical workers who are struggling on the front line.
